Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter is a Mighty Success

You'll have to pardon the terrible title of this one, but, in case you haven't guessed, I'm really excited. The Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter, that started back on August 31, ended on September 1. Including Kickstarter backing funds and those from Paypal, Mighty No. 9 has met every single one of it's stretch goals with over 4 million dollars. That is nothing short of astounding.

I was thrilled when Mighty No. 9 met it's initial stretch goal and the game was green lit. Just being able to play the game on PC was good enough for many but now we're getting console releases on current gen systems, next gen systems, 3DS and Vita releases, a chiptune style soundtrack in addition to the soundtrack and a plethora of other features. The sheer devotion from the fans is amazing and once again, it goes to show just how much power we as consumers have in this industry of ours. We craved a Mega Man-style game and we were able to make it happen.

The Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter may be closed but the Mighty No. 9 PayPal is still open and accepting funds so if you want to continue backing the game, you can still do so. I'm really looking forward to playing this game on the consoles and handhelds in 2015. To those who backed it to those that supported in in other ways by just getting the word out, thank you so much.

  1. I remember my brother telling me that the Kickstarter page had gone up, and as soon as I loaded it up the two of us not only saw a huge amount of money pooled already, but that same number constantly rising. I think it's safe to say that Mighty No. 9 is a success in more ways than one -- a triumph for gamers, for devs, for that creative spark, and of course for a good game.

I can only begin to imagine what's going through the heads of Capcom's bigwigs right now. I'd like to think that they're collectively tugging at their collars and sweating profusely.
