Marvel vs. Capcom Origins Tribute Art

Releasing on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network in September, Marvel vs. Capcom Origins collects two of Capcom's hottest fighters from the 1990s era, Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes. The games will feature online play and achievements among other things. To further hype you for the release of this digital compilation, Marvel has released two tribute pieces. The first one done by Ron Lim is a homage to cover of Marvel's classic Infinite Gauntlet #1. The Second, done by Shinkiro is a tribute to the American box art of Mega Man 2. Pretty awesome stuff, huh?

E3 2012: Retro City Rampage Trailer

A game I've been looking forward to for quite some time, Retro City Rampage looks like Grand Theft Auto if it were developed on the NES. That's enough to get my attention by the game's music is being handled by Jake "virt" Kaufman. According to wiki, the game is due to release in Summer 2012. A concrete release date would be nice.

The Simpsons Arcade Game Coming to XBL, PSN

Anyone that is a Simpsons fan has no doubt played Konami's 1991 classic The Simpsons Arcade Game. The game had a  limited release showing up to the Commodore 64 and PC in '91. But it has been getting easier for Simpsons fanatics to play the arcade classic over the last few years. In 2009, Electronic Arts released the game on iOS and in 2011, the Australian government sited the game under release for multiple platforms. Come this Friday, February 3, The Simpsons Arcade game will hit Xbox Live. It will be available to PlayStation Network owners on February 7. For PlayStation Plus subscribers, the game will be available as a free download.

The beloved 1991 beat 'em up will be getting a HD makeover. You can play as Homer, Marge, Bart or Lisa with support for four player online co-op. Modes include Quarters, Survival and Free Play. There's also some nice bonus material like being able to unlock the Japanese version of the game, posters, in-game flyers and character guides. No word on a price yet, but regardless, I think it's safe to say that fans will snatch this one up, no matter what the cost.

I'm not much of a Simpsons fan, and despite the fact that the series has been declining for over a decade, I still have fond memories of this arcade classic. I played it back in the arcades the same year it came out with my sister and a friend and it was a lot of fun. It will  be nice to play it again without having to stand up. When I pick up a PS3, this will be one of the games I download.
