Banjo-Kazooie Complete Video Game Soundtrack

You know what was a great game? Banjo-Kazooie. At the time of the game's release in 1998, platformers were getting more and more collecting-heavy, but it Banjo-Kazooie was done SO well that I really didn't mind hunting for all those jiggies and whatnot. You know what else rocked about Banjo-Kazooie? The soundtrack. You absolutely cannot go wrong with songs like Treasure Trove Cove, Mumbo's Mountain, Freezeezy Peak, and Gobi's Valley. Have you longed to have these songs in your music collection but were never able to come by them? Well, you're in luck.

"Lots of people have been asking for the Banjo-Kazooie soundtrack as it's so hard to come by....well ..here it is ..." - Grant Kirkhope, via Twitter

Just like that, the original soundtrack for that original released in physical form all those years ago has been given a re-release in a digital format. How much? Well, whatever you feel like paying. You can pay $5, $10 or $15 for it if you'd like as this is a name your price download. So, the Banjo-Kazooie Complete Video Game Soundtrack can be yours for zip, zero, zilch, nada, if you don't wanna pay anything. I always knew Gran Kirkhope was a swell guy based off of his wonderful music compositions but to throw up this album and for a name your price download? Give that man another million cool points.

If I can be a bit of a downer, despite the title, for many, this won't qualify as the "complete" soundtrack. There are tons of variations of the game's themes. GilvaSunner's playlist of Banjo-Kazooie has over 150 tracks, which includes many of the game's variations on stage themes and background music.

Really, I'm so stoked about this digital release, that I can't really fault Grant for not including all those variations. This is an excellent way for those that have yearned for some music from this game to have easy access to it. For those that don't care about having each and every single song variant  this original 17 track album will do nicely. Here's hoping we see more digital soundtrack releases from old Rare classics (cough cough GOLDENEYE cough cough). Why are you still reading this? Head on over to bandcamp get yourself some kooky tunes.

I think he had a hand in writing the music for Blast Crops. That game never had a soundtrack release, sadly.
